Gotta love.

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40 ESV)

We gotta love, words from Jesus himself that loving God and loving people is the greatest commandment, if we do that everything else follows suit.

Don't waste your prayer.

In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he became hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:18-22 ESV)

“If you have faith.”
Prayer is a waste if we don’t truly believe God for the answer. If we pray yet still worry, we negate our prayers making them useless. Today let us pray boldly in faith and watch God as He moves in a mighty way. All we have to do is believe.

Judgement.

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7 ESV)

The next time we react in judgement let us think and reflect on this passage of scripture straight from the mouth of Jesus. None of us are sinless, but all of us are forgiven; so let us forgive rather than hate just as Jesus would.

Move the mountain.

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:18-20 ESV)

Faith moves mountains and makes the word impossible useless. So today let us tell our mountain how big our God is. If He created the universe, cause the blind to see, and defeated death why couldn’t he move our mountains. Today lets push our faith for the impossible in our lives.

Reap the reward.

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. (Matthew 16:24-27 ESV)

To find our true life we must lose it for the sake of Christ. Let us deny ourselves and seek the higher calling from God and reap the everlasting reward from Heaven. If Jesus gave his life for me how can I give Him anything less?

Walking on water.

And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” (Matthew 14:25-27 ESV)

Think about how this can apply to our lives. How God has a plan that may look like the impossible, but He asks us to jump in the water, take heart and not be afraid for it is Him who is with us. Let us step out in faith upon that calling and experience God like never before; walking on water.
