Tested faith.

therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, (2 Thessalonians 1:4-7 NASB)

A faith tested in trial is a faith worth trusting. Let us look to trials as an opportunity for strength and reliance on our God. We must remember he is all sovereign and just, especially in our pain.

Righteous.

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV)

Through the blood of Jesus Christ we are made holy and righteous with the God who created the world. We owe our lives to that sacrifice and let us not grow weary or complacent in the power of what Jesus has, is, and will do for us through his death and resurrection!

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17 ESV)

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:17, 18 ESV)

Words to eternity.

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. (Colossians 4:5, 6 ESV)

Let our words be full of grace at all times, in all circumstances, because our testimony to Christ is always under watch. Let us not forget how powerful our words can be. They can turn people to Christ just as easily as turning them away. Our words have the weight of eternity.

Work.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality. (Colossians 3:23-25 ESV)

Let us work in all that we do as for the Lord. In reverence to the excellency of Christ let us be excellent in our efforts giving our best to our work not only for our own result but the glory of Christ and our testimony to Him
