Free.

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Colossians 2:13-15 ESV)

The rulers are disarmed, the authorities are put to shame by the power and reign of Christ that makes us righteous and one with God! We are free, we are free, by the blood of Christ and the power of His resurrection over death, praise the Lord we are FREE!

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. (Colossians 1:11, 12 ESV)

Pray out the worry.

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6, 7 ESV)

When we worry we waste our time. Anxiety is a mental battle that accomplishes absolutely nothing, so the next time that anxious feeling creeps up let us remember these words of Paul, PRAY. Pray asking for God to fill us with strength in the Spirit, pray in thankfulness to what He has given and done for us to put things into perspective and we will receive the peace of the Lord to guard our thoughts from worry and fear.

Forget the past.

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13, 14 ESV)

As Paul says here we can’t let our past drag us down from the incredible journey we are called to in Christ. Take a moment today to pray and tell God you’re letting go of what happened in the past, it doesn’t define you, Jesus defines you and in that you are called to eternity, and righteousness with the God of the universe!

Give our all.

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (Philippians 2:3-8 ESV)

Let us humble ourselves before our God and our peers focusing on lifting them up and taking care of their needs over ourselves just as Jesus did. If Jesus humbled himself as a servant to us in obedience to the point where he was put to death on a cross, how can we not give our all for him?

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, (Ephesians 6:16-18 ESV)
