2 Corinthians 12v9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

God is with us always through His Spirit and especially in our weaknesses. When we are in struggle we often feel that we are far from God but the truth is we are never closer. His presence is more powerful, to shape us, to bring His light and strength to the surface through our struggle, bringing testimony to His name. Praise the Lord for He is near.

We were made for so much more.

Genesis 1v26-31
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

God created humankind for more than getting the dollar, seeking the power, and being the best. He created us to care for all His creation. Let that sink in today let that become a reality in our lives; let alone the fact that God decided to make one thing on this earth to represent himself. One thing that is blessed beyond all the rest of creation with dominion over it all. One thing to be the pinnacle of all He has made. Us. Our lives have been given incredible worth since day one.

2 Corinthians 9v6-8
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

In this season of giving let us not forget where it all comes from and how all our sufficiency is found in God. So let us give as God gives to us freely and joyfully.

Unequally Yoked.

2 Corinthians 6v14-15
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?

This is an important truth laid out by Paul and it is important for us to understand it. Yoked implies to be interweaved or allied with unbelievers through actions. This does not mean for us to stay away from the unbeliever, remember Jesus came for the sick, the hurting, and the lost. But rather we are to set ourselves apart by acting as Christ out of reverence to Christ not out of holier than thou self righteousness so that we may minister to the change that has overwhelmed our lives to those lost. We are to spread the power of Christ to all people at all cost but to live as those partnered with Christ and not this world.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Today is a new day.

2 Corinthians 4v16-18
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Renewed day by day. That is a powerful truth. Whatever struggle or downfall we may have had yesterday, a month ago, or three years ago that is over for we are renewed in the Spirit each new day. Let us take today to forget about what has been holding us down and believe in the power of renewal and ultimately in eternity which has been given to us by Christ. Start fresh today and put your hope in eternal life which will far outweigh our momentary struggles here on earth.
