Matthew 7v24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Lean on the teachings of Jesus. If our lives are built on the solid foundation of Christ, living with a focus of loving Him and others as he pointed out to be the greatest commandments we will find true life. There is no room for fear, insecurities, or anything else the world tries to break us down with. We are safe from the sweeping waters, yes they will come but put faith in the rock and we will be left standing strong.

Mark 12v30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Matthew 6v26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Our God is incredible. Our worry is next to pointless, for His love and grace is sufficient in all things. If He cares enough to keep the birds provided for how much more will He sustain us? Our hearts may become troubled but the Lord has His people taken care of.

2 Corinthians 12v9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Psalm 94v19 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

Psalm 18v32 It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.

There is always comfort in God above. Rely on His strength for He will provide it.

1 Corinthians 10v13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

“…what is common to mankind.” Our temptations are something we can all relate to and find fellowship in fighting against. It is good to know we have an army fighting with us against the evil one. It’s easier to grab the courage to storm the beaches with fellow soldiers than to try to fight alone. The Lord will provide a way out and often that is through endurance, and strength provided by others. Let us be that strength to our brothers and to our sisters. And let us not be afraid to seek guidance from our peers as well.

Ephesians 6v14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

1 Corinthians 9v22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

Paul issues a challenge here. To make ourselves equal with all to share the gospel. To get out of our comfort zone and watch the spirit work through us for Gods glory bringing salvation to the people.

When we step away from the norm and rely on the spirit through action, our faith is strengthened. Mustard seed faith starts to takes effect and the mountain begins to rumble. Things begin to change.

Lamentations 3v22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Our God is always for us, constantly in our corner strengthening us with love and compassion each new day. What then can we fear?
