Good fruit.

Matthew 3v10
Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

We must be aware that we were made to share the love God has given us. This is an ever present theme throughout the gospels. Through Christ we have found so much love that we can’t bare to keep in it, so let us reach out in love to those around us bearing good and honest fruit for the glory of our God.

Give me faith.

1 John 5v3-4
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Faith is powerful. Our faith in Christ overcomes all the struggle and brokenness of the world and it is the catalyst to seeing Gods great will come alive in our lives. It is easy to believe faith is dependant on us and “how we are doing spiritually” but faith comes from the Father. Every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1v17) So today let’s start asking God to increase our faith, so that we can experience Him more and rely on His power rather than our efforts; to transform our earthly minds to believe for things greater than this world and giving Him all control to do the unexplainable in our lives for His glory.

Matthew 17v20
…“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and NOTHING will be IMPOSSIBLE for you.” - Jesus

No Fear.

1 John 4v18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Fear has been laid to rest by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His love has perfected us, made us whole and we no longer face punishment when we follow Him. Fear doesn’t belong in our lives, nothing in this world can shake us because we have the God of all creation on our side and most importantly in us. Let us face any fears we have today and tell them how big our God is.

1 John 4v4
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Effectiveness.

2 Peter 1v4-8
by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peter lays out the recipe for effectiveness in reaching the lost and growing those in Christ and asks for these qualities to be ever increasing so that we produce more and more fruit upon this earth for the glory of Christ.

Humble.

1 Peter 5v6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

To receive the Spirit of joy, peace, and contentment we must place ourselves where God can lift us up. We do this by humbling ourselves, denying our pride and giving all control to Him. Truly giving Him our every breath of everyday. Laying all worries on His mighty hand for He will bring us above them all to His higher calling and make His glory known to the world.

Bless.

1 Peter 3v8-9
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
