1 Corinthians 12v24-26
…But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
1 Corinthians 10v31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Let our actions speak to the change in our lives. To the love, sacrifice, and grace that has been given to us. Let our actions align with those of Christ in everything we do to be a visible reflection of our God giving Him glory and drawing people to His truth and presence.
Matthew 22v37-40
And he said to him, “You shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
1 Corinthians 6v18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
These verses are always heavy hitters especially when concerning the tough topic of sexual sin. But there are two parts in these last verses of the chapter. The what and why. The what is the commandment of fleeing from sexual immorality which is incredibly important for us to live in respect to the Spirit in us but the why slams it home and brings it all together. We were bought with a price, with a death of a savior pure and innocent. Our bodies are not our own but are now in ownership with Christ and that is why we must flee, stay pure, and strive whole heartily to live as He has because He is alive in us.
We are not our own. We were bought with a price.
1 Corinthians 4v20
For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.
1 Corinthians 3v16-17
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
We must live our lives with the reminder that we are a Holy temple of God with His Spirit inside us, and we must take great care and pride of our God inside us by living the way He has commanded. Not out of love for ourselves but out of love for what He has done for us.
Proverbs 9v10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
